Role Description
The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily HR operations for Casa Tua’s restaurant locations, acting as a vital connector between employees, management, and the broader operational team. This role manages a range of HR functions while also providing general office management support as needed. The ideal candidate is an intuitive HR partner who can anticipate needs, assess people-related situations quickly, and independently make sound decisions while collaborating closely with leadership when needed.
Core Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Hiring: Post job openings, screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and conduct background checks.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Manage new-hire paperwork, orientation, and exit processes.
- Employee Relations: Address employee concerns, support conflict resolution, and assist with disciplinary actions.
- Compensation & Benefits: Support payroll administration and assist employees with benefit-related inquiries.
- HR Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws and internal policies.
- Training & Development: Assist with training programs, performance tracking, and development initiatives.
- Administrative & Data Management: Maintain accurate, confidential personnel files and HR documentation.
- Safety & Wellness: Promote a safe, healthy workplace and support wellness initiatives.
- Claims Management: Manage workers’ compensation and unemployment claims.
- General Office Management: Support day-to-day office needs, coordinate supplies, manage document organization, and assist with administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Human Resources, Hospitality or related area.
- 2 years' of experience working in Human Resources.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Independent, intuitive, and proactive in problem-solving.
- Strong team player who collaborates effectively with diverse staff and leadership.
- Familiarity with Toast, 7shifts, ADP Workforce Now, and Microsoft 365.
- Prior hospitality or restaurant industry experience preferred.
