Carpenter Co has an immediate opening for Operator A on1st shift in the Carpet Cushion department at our Fogelsville, PA manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specific equipment to produce useable product to be used by internal customer for the manufacture of finished products for external customers using a daily production schedule and product specifications. The Operator works in a normal manufacturing environment exposed to temperature changes and loud noise. The position must be forklift certified. Must have the ability to operate and maintain the equipment and ensures that all proper ingredients are used to make proper slab materials that will meet customer and company specifications.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. This position maintains daily communications with Department Manager, Quality Control, Carpet Cushion Manager and all other the employees in the department.
Your additional responsibilities as an Operator will include:
Must maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment.
Performs cutting operations according to internal and external customer specifications.
Records pertinent data into the SAP system.
Conducts quality checks of all material to meet customer specifications
Follows work instructions to maintain requirements.
Must adjust cutting requirements to maintain efficiency.
Must make sure all finished products are labeled correctly.
Must follow the daily production schedule.
Must go through the pre-pouring run.
Assists with preventative maintenance
Must calibrate the equipment and monitor the pouring run.
Ensures that all supplies are available for the pouring schedule
Verifies the crane is operating properly
Maintain accurate pouring logs
Skills and requirements:
2-4 years of prior machine operator experience
Must pass an audiometric and pulmonary test on an annual basis
Must complete Hazmat training.
Must have basic, reading and math skills
Must have basic computer skills with knowledge of data entry
Able to read and interpret a tape measure
Able to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, and call-ins with little notice
