Forklift Operator (Operator B)

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Forklift Operator (Operator B) at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant.

Job Summary: Primarily responsible for the moving foam buns from chop line to warehouse .

Position Scope: Position maintains a daily communication with Quality Control, Department Manager/Supervisor and all department personnel to make sure the needs of all internal and external customers are met through the manufacture of polyurethane foam products using a chop saw to produce finished products. The position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.

Requirements and Experience

• Experience operating a forklift is a must.
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment required
• Good communication and advanced math skills.
• Must be forklift certified or experience with sit down forklifts
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call-in with little notice.
• Willing to learn how to bale trim material.
• Willing to learn how and be a backup to the crane operator.
• Willing to learn how and be a backup to the chop line operator.
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision.

Non-Essentials Functions:

1. Assists with inventory, as required.

2. Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Shift Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 9:00pm - 5:30am and depending on business needs

Hourly Rate: $20.20 - 20.79 Plus 1.00/hr shift premium for all hours worked on 3rd shift.
