What are the responsibilities and job description for the MT/MLS/CLS - Temporary Assignment position at CaroMont Health?
Job Summary: Performs a wide variety of laboratory tests and procedures in the assigned section(s) of the laboratory including pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases with minimal supervision. Contributes to Laboratory Performance Improvement process, assists with development of technical procedure manuals. Responsible for quality and timeliness of laboratory procedures performed. Serves as a professional laboratory resource for other laboratory team members including lab assistants, phlebotomists, couriers, and medical laboratory technicians.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Science from an accredited college or university and completion of an approved MT/CLS/MLS program. MT/MLS/CLS certification required. Acceptable certifications are ASCP, AMT or AAB. Cannot be a full or part time CaroMont Employee. Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and equipment. Considerable skill in performing various laboratory tests and troubleshooting methodology and quality issues. Effective communication skills and ability to lead a laboratory workgroup.
