Position Overview
Production Material Handler pulls all fabric to be cut for cut order and/or custom department in a correct and timely manner.
What you'll do
- Pull fabric for cut orders and/or custom department.
- Meet the daily order pull standard set by the Production Supervisor or Manager.
- Check the ticket for fabric against the swatch for accuracy.
- Deduct pulled yardage from the bin card.
- Assist with stock checks when necessary.
- Tag custom pulls with the plant number.
- Pull back-ordered fabric in a timely manner.
- Check pulls against primary bin location and case bin protest.
- Notify the receiving supervisor before pulling fabric from the case bin.
- Work in a production/warehouse environment.
- Stand/walk for up to seven hours or more per shift.
- Lift or carry over 30 pounds in all directions.
- Occasionally push/pull carts and buggies.
- Occasionally ascend/descend ladders.
- Move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another.
- Repeat motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Wear a face mask/shield.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Who you are
- High school graduate
- General knowledge of fabrics
- Successfully pass color blind test
- Accuracy with names, numbers and spelling
- Capable of walking/standing for extended periods of time
- Capable of lifting on a continuous basis
- Strong attention to details
- Follow written and verbal instructions
