Under the direction from the Senior Operations Leader, the Production Manager – Spun Fiber will ensure that company policies and procedures are followed, promote a culture of safety, support quality assurance and continuous improvement programs while ensuring all elements of the Morgan Code of Conduct are achieved. The Production Manager will be the Spun Fiber Department Leader who fosters an atmosphere of teamwork, accountability and employee development. The Production Manager is responsible for managing department operations including: EHS/Safety, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operational Excellence.

Job Functions
- Stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of Line Lead, Process Engineers, Maintenance Lead and production employees in the Spun Fiber Department.
- Assure efficient utilization of equipment and facilities.
- Ensure expenditure is maintained within budget limitations.
- Establish operating schedules for highly fluctuating product requirements.
- Responsible for selection, hiring and development of the management team. Participates in performance calibrations and recommends merit increases, promotions and transfers.
- Assure compliance with Company and Plant policies, health and safety standards, environmental regulations, hazardous waste, and good housekeeping practices.
- In conjunction with Safety and HR, lead Root Cause Analysis and Incident Investigations related to Spun Fiber Department.
- Participate in base plan presentation. Continuously reviews ongoing performance within area of responsibility and acts to assure achievement of goals.
- Work with appropriate individuals to plan business objectives, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
- Responsible for driving the development of standard operating procedures.
- Manage policy deployment in the areas of Lean Manufacturing techniques, quality, cost reduction, on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and plant performance.
- Assures compliance with quality and process specifications.
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
- Manage overtime requirements to meet internal and external customer requirements along with financial responsibilities.
- Behave responsibly and ethically in all matters, presenting a high level of authenticity and engagement.
- Evaluate performance of Spun Department Team for compliance with establish policies and objectives of division and contributions in attaining objectives.
- Support and participates in management review meetings per ISO requirements
- Assure compliance with Company and Plant policies, health and safety standards, environmental regulations, hazardous waste, and good housekeeping practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS degree in Engineering (Ceramic, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Polymer & Fiber) is desired. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is essential.
- Experienced in equipment management and facilitating maintenance activities and scheduled shutdowns is essential.
- Experience working within a high paced environment, previous supervisory/management experience a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across business units, departments, and various levels of management.
- Lean manufacturing experience desired.
- Work experience in a behavior-based safety environment is essential.
- Must possess superior organization, communications, presentation skills, critical thinking, EQ.
- Ability to perform as a Leader and Collaborator and the ability to communicate comfortably at all levels of the organization is essential.
- Experience operating in ERP systems
- Advanced MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management and good report writing and data analysis skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
- Ability to analyze data and plan improvement activities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
