Essential Duties:
- Teach several visual art courses per semester for middle and upper school students.
- Teach a range of techniques in 2-D and 3-D art forms, possibly including painting, printmaking, textile arts, and drawing for students.
- Serve as an advisor for students ensuring student success.
- Collaborate with art faculty to ensure alignment of curriculum and shared instructional goals.
- Use a variety of different materials and art styles to diversify student experiences in art making.
- Evaluate each student’s progress in their knowledge and skills.
- Communicate with parents to discuss the individual student’s progress.
- Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences, and professional development sessions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, master's degree preferred in an art field.
- Minimum of 3 years of K-12 teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience with 2-D and 3-D art forms and ability to instruct a wide-variety of visual arts coursework as needed.
- Passion for visual art, art history, and the fine arts.
- Knowledge of varied teaching strategies to differentiate learning.
- Ability to work with students across a range of grade levels, skill levels, abilities, interests, and backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Work Authorization required.
