Responsibilities of Middle School Librarian:
- Cultivate a love of reading, strengthen information literacy, and design meaningful learning experiences that integrate research, technology, creativity, and critical thinking for middle school students.
- Collaborate with faculty to expand collection of resources that align with student needs, instructional strategies, and school mission.
- Assist with instruction on effective use of library resources.
- Assess current use of digital systems identifying needs for improvement, alignment, and faculty support.
- Work with faculty to integrate best research practices into curriculum and enhance student learning outcomes.
Requirements of Middle School Librarian:
- Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent advanced degree.
- Previous K-12 teaching or school librarian experience required.
- Expertise with library management systems.
- Passion for working with middle school students.
- Demonstrated expertise in learning management systems (LMS).
- U.S. Work Authorization required.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
