Essential Duties:
- Teach fundamental art skills and concepts for upper school students.
- Introduce students to various forms of art such as painting, sculpting, mixed media, sketching, and/or drawing.
- Use a variety of different materials to diversify student experiences in art making.
- Evaluate each student’s progress in their knowledge and skills.
- Serve as an advisor for a group of students, offering support, mentorship, and guidance to help them thrive academically and personally.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay up to date with innovations in art education.
- Assist with managing department budget to ensure strategic allocation of resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, master's degree preferred in an art field.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the K-12 preferred.
- Passion for visual art, art history, and the fine arts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- U.S. Work Authorization required.
