Elementary French Teacher Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support for Pre and Lower School students in developing French language skills.
- Foster a learning environment that encourages social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation for students.
- Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
- Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
- Collaborate with world language department and school administration to strengthen Preschool and Lower School curriculum.
- Organizing fun events where students can showcase their French language skills.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
Elementary French Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven written and verbal proficiency in French.
- 2-3 years of previous teaching experience.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
- Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
