Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:
- Teach several sections of Spanish each semester for middle or upper school students.
- Teach Spanish language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
- Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
- Organizing events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
- Serve as an advisor for a group of students, offering support, mentorship, and guidance to help them thrive academically and personally.
Spanish Teacher Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish.
- At least 3-5 years of previous K-12 teaching experience.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
- Willingness to assist with school sports teams and/or extracurricular activities.
Additional Desired Qualities:
- Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
