Activities Assistant/Transporter (CNA req'd) - Long Term Care

Job Summary

MUST HAVE VALID CNA LICENSE AND EXPERIENCE TRANSPORTING PATIENTS/RESIDENTS (preferably in a van).

Duties

• Facilitate a variety of engaging activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, including recreational therapy sessions and special events.
• Develop and implement innovative programs that promote social interaction, cognitive health, and physical activity for residents with diverse needs.
• Assist with organizing resident events such as birthdays, holiday celebrations, and community outings to enhance resident engagement and morale.
• Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences and needs, fostering a sense of belonging and community connection.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and care teams to support residents’ emotional well-being and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and provide feedback on residents’ progress or changing needs.
• Manage schedules for activity sessions, ensuring timely delivery of programs while coordinating with other team members for seamless operations.

Skills

• Proven experience in event planning, recreational therapy, or senior activity coordination within assisted living or nursing home settings.
• Strong background in Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and working with geriatric patients.
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging programs tailored to residents’ cognitive and physical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with seniors, families, and team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for record keeping and program documentation.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in long-term care environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to lead team efforts in organizing resident events while managing schedules efficiently.
