Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team in a long-term care and skilled nursing facility. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality therapy services that help residents achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve residents' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Assist residents with mobility, self-care, upper extremity strengthening, cognitive training, and adaptive equipment use.
- Monitor resident progress and accurately document treatment sessions.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations, and Medicare guidelines.
- Participate in care plan meetings and discharge planning as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current COTA license/certification in the State of South Carolina.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric rehabilitation preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
