Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes with professionalism and efficiency
- Schedule appointments using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring optimal patient flow
- Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle medical billing using systems like Vyne and dentrix.
- Review and update patient records accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems including dentrix or similar platforms
- Collect payments, perform dental collections, and manage financial transactions with attention to detail
- Maintain organized dental and medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards
- Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, providing clear information and scheduling assistance
Skills
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ADA coding, and insurance verification processes
- Proficiency in dentrix software is preferred
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10 key typing)
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly and ensure accuracy in dental billing and coding procedures
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Prior clinic or dental office experience with familiarity in front desk operations, dental administrative support, and office management practices
- Exceptional customer service skills paired with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in busy healthcare environments
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards for health information management and confidentiality protocols
