Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, documentation, and testing of factory automation systems.
This role involves working on complex industrial projects, including PLC-based control systems, robotics, Ethernet communication, and power distribution. The ideal candidate will play a key role in integrating various industrial components and supporting the development of innovative automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with management and engineering teams to define system requirements and specifications
- Design and develop electrical systems for new and existing factory automation solutions
- Create and capture electrical schematics for circuits, panels, enclosures, and cabling
- Utilize CAD tools to design electrical subsystems and generate detailed assembly documentation
- Select and integrate PLC components into automation systems per standards
- Support PLC programming in collaboration with software development teams
- Ensure designs meet safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness standards
- Troubleshoot and debug systems in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Support technicians during system assembly and implementation
- Continuously improve design processes, tools, and methodologies
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams
- Manage vendor relationships for sourcing components and technical services
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical engineering within factory automation or industrial system integration
- Strong experience designing and integrating PLC-based control systems
- Experience integrating industrial machinery and safety components into automation systems
- Proficiency in electrical schematic design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio, or similar)
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor)
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
- Strong understanding of electrical assemblies, panels, enclosures, and cabling
- Experience working with vendors for component selection and support
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
