What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Engineer position at Carley Foundry, Inc.?
We’re looking for a Product Engineer to join our growing team and help drive process and product development across our foundry operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll bridge design and production—optimizing tooling, improving casting processes, and supporting new product introductions.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient manufacturing. If you have a passion for engineering, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Support new product introductions (NPI) from design through production.
- Review customer drawings and specifications to support tooling and process design.
- Assist with gating and feeding system development and validation.
- Collect and analyze process data to improve quality and efficiency.
- Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Engineering to reduce scrap and improve yields.
- Support process documentation, audits, and PPAP activities.
- Contribute to lean manufacturing and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or 3–5 years of relevant foundry or manufacturing experience.
- Experience with dry sand, green sand, permanent mold, or investment casting product lines.
- Knowledge of process improvement, tooling design, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and foundry environments.
