Job Description

We're seeking a versatile and experienced Product Development Engineer to join our team. This is a full-time W-2 role with comprehensive benefits and profit sharing.

The ideal candidate is a maker at heart, with a proven track record of effectiveness across multiple engineering disciplines. This role offers the exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, contribute to the entire product development process, and share in the company's success once you transition to W-2 employment.

Responsibilities

• Develop new product designs and solutions using CAD software
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the full product development cycle
• Conduct analysis, research, and testing to optimize designs and solve complex engineering challenges
• Create technical documentation, models, renderings, and presentations
• Fabricate prototypes and test fixtures as needed
• Contribute to various aspects of product development, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineering tasks

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in product design and development
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software
• Experience with microcontrollers (Arduino) and coding
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines (ME, EE, SWE, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Hands-on experience taking products from concept to production
• Passion for making and a DIY mindset
• Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship

Preferred Skills

• Experience in electrical engineering
• Knowledge of data science principles and applications
• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques

Compensation Structure:

• Full-time salaried position
• Comprehensive health insurance (75% company-sponsored for employee, 25% for dependents)
• Paid time off (2 weeks annually)
• Sick time accrual (1 hour per 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours/year)
• Profit sharing program – participate in both General Pool and Contributor Pool, directly tying your compensation to company success
• Total compensation range: $110-160k (including profit sharing), based on experience and contribution
