Job Summary

Summary/Objective The Healing Place Program Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of program implementation for this peer-driven, long-term residential recovery program including Safe off the Streets (SOTS). This person will develop a team of peer mentors and staff to assist in the day-to-day management, execution, and success of the programs based on the Healing Place Social Model. This position works closely with The Program Operations Manager at the other campus of The Healing Place. Essential Functions Drive and execute gender-specific recovery within The Healing Place model.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities • Provide day-to-day management of the CARITAS long-term residential recovery program including Safe off the Streets. This includes facilitating a therapeutic community with program participants 3 times per week to address problems and issues in a democratic manner compatible with the social model. • Provide instruction and training for staff members, Peer Mentors, and program participants in the principles of the social model recovery program to maintain standards of program delivery and promote behavioral and spiritual health and wellness among participants. • Facilitate group meetings with program participants to deal with issues and concerns in a democratic manner compatible with the social model. • Create and maintain policies, rules and guidelines with accuracy and timeliness. • Perform and provide daily reports on all screenings and discharges from the program. • Establish and maintain relationships with a network of referral and recovery resources. • Develop and maintain a positive peer culture through role modeling and coaching within the facility. • Work with the Director of The Healing Place to accurately and effectively measure and evaluate outcomes, and develop and maintain a balanced budget for the program. • Work across CARITAS programs, specifically CARITAS Works and Community Engagement, to ensure consistent and timely communication and maximized opportunities. • Build and maintain community partnerships that educate, engage, and promote The Healing Place. • Support the Director of Community Engagement by supervising volunteers, encouraging two-way communication, and participating in program activities. Competencies Must have reliable transportation and have knowledge of all federal, state and local compliance and safety regulations. The ability to work with contractors and outside suppliers and work well with CARITAS' client population are necessary. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals. • Cultural competence in related recovery language, communities, and resources. • Strong written and oral communication skills. • Experience in public speaking and facilitating presentations. • Able to maintain ethical standards of professional care and confidentiality. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and with the ability to prioritize workload. • A positive and hospitable attitude geared toward teamwork, creativity, and flexibility on a daily basis. • Able to innovate and work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals. • Resourceful team leader and mentor, comfortable working with an ethnically, culturally and racially diverse staff and participant population. Computer Skills Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Google Docs. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises up to 2 supervisory, up to 12 non-supervisory employees, and some volunteers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Travel Required Local travel may be required. Required education and experience Master's degree preferred (MSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent. Will accept a BSW or equivalent; and/or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; CADC and/or CPRS a plus. Extensive knowledge of the 12-step program of recovery, Recovery Dynamics, and the Healing Place Social Model. Program management experience in the field of recovery. Proven experience in hiring, team development and knowledge of group dynamics. Experience working with an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse staff and participant population. Knowledge of, and direct experience with, working with those suffering from substance use disorders. Well established passion for recovery. Knowledge of best practices in recovery with expertise in application of knowledge to maintain program development and innovation.
