Role Overview: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, operates advanced imaging equipment, and ensures patient safety and radiation compliance. They collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver accurate diagnostic results and educate patients about procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educate patients and address questions regarding nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Maintain, inspect, and report equipment malfunctions, ensuring radiation safety standards.
  • Prepare, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Operate imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images per physician orders.
  • Document procedures accurately in patient records, adhering to safety policies.
  • Follow safety and radiation protocols to minimize exposure.
  • Perform additional duties within the scope of practice as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least one year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Tech.
  • Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist/Radiography license and BLS certification.
  • Preferred: ARRT or CNMT certification.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to move equipment and remain stationary as needed.
  • Proficiency in reading instructions, using PC, and handling detailed tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage irregular schedules, and maintain professionalism.
