Summary:

The Ecommerce Merchandiser will be responsible for data-driven site merchandising for the Carhartt WIP North America website. The role will identify opportunities to enhance conversion and drive revenue growth across product categories and locales (US/CA/MX). The candidate will partner with content, user experience & digital marketing to launch and merchandise product, category, and special feature assortments that align with investment and brand goals. You will be detail-oriented and highly organized with a strategic mindset, and develop an in-depth understanding of the WIP customer and product catalog. The role is based in New York with an in-office presence required Tuesday through Thursday, reporting to the Head of Ecommerce.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own site merchandising, search and personalization strategies and their day-to-day execution, responsible for driving engagement, conversion, and revenue growth.
  • Analyze and interpret data (including product, category and campaign performance, web selling, traffic acquisition metrics) and customer behavior to identify trends and provide action plans to change, improve and optimize product performance on-site.
  • Generate and deliver weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting of key performance metrics.
  • Identify and drive A/B testing and CRO opportunities, to develop and recommend new merchandising strategies to improve product discovery and sell through.
  • Partner with Global HQ in creation of website categories, editing product selects to reflect regional inventory investment and reacting to weekly sales.
  • Partner with Searchspring and development agency to troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Oversee site content refreshes, launch rollouts, asset updates, and QA checks, ensuring each digital touchpoint reflects the brand's identity.
  • Drive the regional marketing calendar and ensure all teams are aligned with weekly and seasonal campaign release dates; lead seasonal sale, BFCM and promotional initiatives.
  • Partner with North America leadership to identify regional content opportunities - concepting messaging, imagery, consumer journey and storytelling that reflect key investments and consumer trends.
  • Develop content plans that maximize asset usage across the site experience to enhance engagement.
  • Identify optimizations to the user journey to maximize performance consistent with brand strategy.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of internal systems and platform capabilities.
  • Leverage relationships with third-party technology partners to extend platform usage; identifying new feature release capabilities to elevate the customer journey.
  • Collaborate with team to improve tools and productivity, own and lead new process creation and implementation.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in ecommerce or digital merchandising in fashion/apparel.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven experience with Shopify Plus and merchandising and content management tools (i.e. Sanity.io, Searchspring, Algolia)
  • Fluent in Google Analytics; knowledge of e-commerce KPIs and retail math.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Digitally native, with a pro-active test-and-learn mentality; experience with A/B and multivariate testing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, copywriting experience a plus.
  • Understanding of system integrations, data structures & field mapping required.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Experience with Project Management tools such as Asana, Jira, Monday.
  • Passion for the WIP customer with a strong interest in understanding and driving user behavior.
  • Process-oriented mindset - strong adherence to SOPs and systematic approaches to work
  • A strategic critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, detail & results oriented.
  • Ability to manage time, priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Will be required to work outside of regular office hours for special releases.

Additional Information:

  • Location: Full time at our Soho NY office. Hybrid work schedule, mandated to be in office Tuesday through Thursday.
  • Reporting Structure: Direct report to the Director of Ecommerce
  • Compensation: $85K - $95K
