This critical role ensures that vendor partnerships deliver consistent value, meet compliance requirements, and support long-term technology and business goals. Acting as the central liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners, the VMO Manager plays a key role in optimizing vendor relationships and enhancing IT service delivery.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and execute vendor management strategies and governance frameworks that align with organizational objectives.
- Oversee contract negotiations and manage vendor agreements to ensure compliance with SLAs, KPIs, and regulatory standards.
- Track vendor performance using scorecards, dashboards, and quarterly business reviews to generate data-driven insights for IT leadership.
- Lead financial oversight of vendor spend, including budgeting, cost optimization initiatives, and consolidated billing processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, legal, and IT teams for streamlined vendor onboarding, offboarding, and issue resolution.
- Monitor and ensure vendor compliance with security, privacy, and risk management policies.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through benchmarking, competitive bidding, and rate negotiations.
- Drive process improvement and automation across the vendor lifecycle; contribute to VMS tool implementation and optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 7 years of experience in IT vendor management, supplier governance, or procurement roles.
- Proficiency with Vendor Management System (VMS) tools such as Coupa, and strong knowledge of IT service delivery models.
- Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, vendor performance management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with compliance standards including GDPR, SOC, and ISO frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage financial performance and mitigate risk within vendor relationships.
