Carex is partnering with a healthtech startup partner to identify a Founding Engineer to take a hands-on role in building a comprehensive healthcare delivery platform. This individual will directly support the company's mission to enable independent physician-led practices by architecting robust technical infrastructure and iterating rapidly based on user feedback. The ideal candidate will be a self-directed and curious problem-solver with a passion for meaningful impact in healthcare. The position is fully in-person in New York City and offers an opportunity to work directly with the founding team, contribute to the product roadmap, and shape the company’s technical and cultural foundations.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build core infrastructure for workflows including referrals, scheduling, patient intake, prior authorizations, billing, and care management.
• Architect and integrate third-party and proprietary solutions into a cohesive, scalable platform.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines to enable actionable insights from clinical and operational data.
• Collaborate directly with users onsite to gather feedback and iterate quickly on features and functionality.
• Play a leadership role in defining technical standards, shaping engineering culture, and recruiting future team members.
• Work closely with the founding team across product and sales to align development with business goals.
• Operate primarily within a tech stack including Node.js, TypeScript, React, SQL, and AWS.
