Founding Software Engineer (Stealth Project)

Company Description

Momentum Labs NYC is a product studio based in New York City, focused on building AI-powered tools that make personal growth intuitive, actionable, and emotionally intelligent. We are currently developing a prototype for a stealth project centered at the intersection of AI, behavior change, and mobile consumer experiences.

Our leadership team includes operators with backgrounds at McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, and top-tier MBA programs, bringing deep experience across strategy, consumer product innovation, and venture building. We’re now assembling early technical collaborators to shape and build our v0 product.

This is a unique opportunity to join at the earliest stage and influence both the architecture and the product direction before launch.

Responsibilities

• Build simple, fast, mobile-first experiences for v0
• Architect the backend and set up core infrastructure
• Develop lightweight APIs and real-time features
• Integrate AI workflows (LLMs, embeddings, semantic search) into user flows
• Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on concepts
• Collaborate directly with the operator/founder team on product strategy
• Influence long-term technical decisions and roadmap

Ideal Experience

Frontend / Mobile

• React, React Native, Expo, TypeScript
• Strong intuition for mobile UX and clean UI patterns
• Experience with animations, modals, or state management tools

Backend

• Node.js or Python
• Supabase (Auth, Postgres, Edge Functions) or equivalent
• Serverless deployments (Vercel, Cloudflare, AWS Lambda)
• Designing RESTful APIs or lightweight microservices
• PGP Laravel

AI / LLM Integration

• OpenAI / GPT-4o or other LLM APIs
• Prompt engineering structured prompt pipelines
• Vector search (Supabase Vector, Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.)
• RAG workflows, embedding strategies, and retrieval pipelines
• Experience building agent-style flows is a plus

General Qualities

• Thrives in early-stage ambiguity
• Comfortable owning large parts of the tech stack
• Bias toward action and iteration
• Interested in wellness, behavior change, personal optimization, or consumer products
• Thinks strategically to create systems that gather valuable data to rapidly scale key features

Compensation

We offer a flexible cash equity model based on skill level, ownership, and scope of contribution. We are early, flexible, and committed to structuring a fair partnership. Starting part-time with potential to expand into a founding role.
