Procurement Officer
Location: Miami, FL
Overview
A well-established organization in Miami is seeking a Procurement Officer to oversee purchasing operations, supplier relationships, and inventory coordination. This role is hands-on and plays a key part in ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, deliveries stay on track, and inventory remains aligned with operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Plan and manage procurement activities across raw materials, equipment, and services
- Source, evaluate, and maintain supplier relationships
- Manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to drive cost savings
Purchasing & Contracts
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, change notices, and vendor agreements
- Obtain and evaluate quotes to ensure competitive pricing
- Support bids, contracts, and proposals for internal and legal review
Inventory & Order Management
- Maintain inventory levels and monitor stock availability
- Coordinate delivery schedules in line with production needs
- Track purchase orders from initiation through closure
- Monitor vendor performance, including on-time delivery
Operations & Reporting
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders
- Record received materials in the system daily
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting
- Participate in monthly inventory counts
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
- Strong background working with vendors and negotiating terms
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP or similar preferred)
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both internally and with suppliers
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Nice to Have
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or high-volume operations
- Exposure to inventory control and production planning environments
- Lean / Six Sigma background
