Purpose of Role
The Executive Director drives organizational strategy and operations, aligning mission, priorities, leadership, and resources to deliver measurable outcomes. The ED serves as a visible ambassador for Leadership Palm Beach County while leading a team of staff and volunteers. They strengthen the organization’s brand through key community partnerships, strong programs and events to ensure long-term growth and sustainability of the organization.
Core Accountabilities
Governance & Board of Governors Engagement
- Develop, maintain, and support a strong diversified Board of Governors, seek and build board involvement with specific direction based on strategic plan.
- Work in coordination with Executive Committee to keep alumni and board members aware of organizational progress and direction through monthly and annual board meetings.
- Maintain records and provide input to the Board Nominating Committee as to board performance metrics regarding meeting attendance, program or event participation, fundraising, and other board responsibilities.
Leadership and Organization Management
- Support and maintain the shared purpose statement, clear organizational priorities, and guiding principles for a consistent quality of administration.
- Oversee the development and compliance of annual organization budget.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations as well as all 501(c)(3) requirements.
- Build and lead a complementary, high-performing team
- Identify opportunities for programs/organization enhancements through strategic partnerships
- Ensure strategy guides structure, staffing and resource investment.
- Develop and manage annual plan to reach objectives
- Manage Leadership Palm Beach County’s daily communications, projects, and pertinent tasks.
Financial Sustainability and Fundraising
- In partnership with the Board of Governors, ensure all revenue goals are met.
- Ensure organization has a strong financial position by formulating, directing, and controlling financial policies and practices that are designed to meet the goals and objectives.
- Build, cultivate, and manage key relationships to ensure that community partnerships and sponsorships grow annually.
- Work with staff and volunteers to secure sponsorships for all event and programs, and that revenue goals are met.
- Pursue additional fund development strategies as needed including seeking new resource opportunities such as grants, donations, and endowments.
Alumni Engagement
- Create, and implement strategies to increase dues-paying membership year over year.
- Track alumni membership history and engagement in order to establish baselines to track trends and create anticipated alumni profile.
- Actively engage and energize volunteers, board members, event committees, partnership organizations, and donors.
Marketing and Communications
- Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from marketing plans, web presence, and external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand, broader community awareness and articulating the organization’s ROI.
- Use external presence and relationships to garner new relationships for Leadership Palm Beach County.
- Ensure that marketing supports organizational goals (e.g., program participation, event attendance, alumni engagement) while tailoring communication for varied stakeholder groups (e.g., membership, supporters, community-at-large).
Program Management
- Ensure ongoing excellence for core programs (Engage, Grow, and Focus Programs), as measured by program partners and participant evaluations, as well as volunteer engagement in planning and execution.
- Explore new program opportunities that balance interest (board, alumni, community partners) with organizational objectives, anticipated return on investment, and staff capacity.
- In partnership with the Board of Governors, evaluate and rebalance program offerings as needed.
Qualifications
- Must currently reside in the Palm Beach County metro area
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 5 years of senior management experience
- Successful track record of effectively developing, leading, and coaching staff.
- Experience in organizational management and successfully managing a budget.
- Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.
- Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders; Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in word processing, software, and hardware including Microsoft Office software; experience in database management; and the ability to learn new technology as needed to increase capacity.

Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
