Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for daily quality checks through out all departments in Lone Star Dairy Production Facility by performing the following duties. Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Abide by safe work practices for employee’s health and safety.
- Perform all analytical testing as needed, i.e.: moisture, fat, pH, total solids, titratable acidity, protein, salt, NIT diary analysis, antibiotic, etc.
- Must be able to operate a computer and other systems to input necessary data.
- Perform additional monitoring/testing duties needed, i.e.: Proper collection of water and product samples for analysis, compositing of samples, preparation of samples for delivery to outside laboratories or customers, etc.
- Review of daily product testing records and reporting any unusual or out of spec results immediately to QA Supervisor and appropriate management supervisors.
- Perform calibration/maintenance/performance checks of plan equipment such as thermometers, inhibitor testing equipment, pH meters, equipment State seal checks, etc.
- Assist with review , creating new, and updating exisiting Food Safety programs
- Participate in problem-solving, conduct root cause analysis, apply corrective and preventive actions, and implement process improvements as needed for product performance.
- Assist Lab Supervisor administering the environmental monitoring program
- Routine CCP compliance checks
- Assist in conducting internal GMP inspections
- Assist with SQF program management and audit
- Follow all Food Safety guidelines, such as, but not limited to:
- GMP’s
- Allergen Program
- Quality
- HACCP
- Sanitation
- Safety
- Other duties as assigned
