Food-ingredient importer and distributor is seeking an entry-level professional to join its sales and customer support team.
The company supplies organic and natural ingredients—including spices, botanical oils, oleoresins, coconut-derived products, cocoa, and other bulk commodities—to food manufacturers, nutraceutical companies, co-packers, and distributors across North America.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to gain hands-on experience in B2B sales, customer service, global sourcing, and ingredient supply-chain operations.
Position Overview
The Entry-Level Sales & Customer Support Representative will support senior sales staff, manage incoming customer requests, coordinate samples and documentation, and gradually assume responsibility for developing customer accounts.
This role is fully on-site at the company’s White Plains, NY office.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Account Support
- Assist with preparing quotes, product specifications, COAs, pricing sheets, and sales proposals.
- Maintain CRM records, notes, and follow-up schedules.
- Support research to identify potential B2B buyers.
- Coordinate sample shipments and track follow-ups.
Customer Communication
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email.
- Provide product information, documentation, and basic technical detail.
- Support order processing and follow-up on delivery timelines.
Market & Product Development
- Learn the company’s ingredient portfolio and industry certifications (Organic, Non-GMO, HACCP, etc.).
- Conduct basic market research on ingredients, pricing trends, and customer needs.
Operations Coordination
- Liaise with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure accurate shipping, documentation, and product flow.
- Help track inventory levels and sample stock.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required (Business, Food Science, Supply Chain, Marketing, or similar fields a plus).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and consistent with follow-ups.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.
- Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets; CRM familiarity is a plus.
- Genuine interest in food ingredients, supply chain operations, or B2B sales.
