Job Summary:
The Medical Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a key role in creating a positive patient experience. This position is responsible for managing front desk operations, including patient check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and providing general administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner

Check patients in and out for appointments, ensuring all forms and documentation are completed

Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using the practice’s scheduling system

Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations or referrals

Collect and process co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances

Answer incoming calls, route messages, and respond to inquiries promptly and courteously

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Manage front office inventory and keep the reception area clean and organized

Communicate effectively with medical staff and support coordination of patient care

Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and faxing as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required

1 year of experience in a medical office or customer service role preferred

Knowledge of insurance plans (PPO, HMO, Medicare, etc.) and medical terminology a plus

Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred

Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills

Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
