We are currently seeking an experienced School-Based Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time, in-person position for the upcoming school year. This opportunity will involve supporting students across 1–2 school buildings with a manageable caseload in a collaborative educational environment.
Position Overview
The primary purpose of a Speech Language Pathology Assistant position is to provide treatment and support for students with speech, language, and swallowing deficits within an educational setting. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will help students achieve their maximum communication potential through individualized therapy and educational support services.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist the supervising SLP in identifying, evaluating, and supporting students with speech and language impairments
- Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct speech-language services to students from preschool through 12th grade in accordance with IEP goals
- Develop and maintain therapy schedules and documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, staff meetings, and other special education planning sessions
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers to support student success
- Assist with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and implementation
- Utilize effective instructional strategies tailored to individual student needs
- Maintain accurate and compliant records in accordance with district, state, and federal regulations
- Foster a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
- Utilize technology effectively to deliver speech-language services
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field
- Minimum of one year of SLPA experience in a school setting or pediatric environment
- Strong technology skills and ability to provide speech services using digital platforms
- Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and time management skills
- Knowledge of assistive technology and special education regulations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation
- Salary Range: $56,000 – $76,000 annually
- Salary dependent upon experience
- $2,000 Sign-On Bonus / Relocation Assistance
- $5,000 CEU Stipend for continuing education and professional development
