Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our rehabilitation team in Ames, Iowa. This position provides therapy services within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Independent Living Facility (ILF) setting. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents to determine functional deficits and therapy needs
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Provide therapeutic interventions focused on ADLs, mobility, cognitive skills, and safety awareness
- Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state, federal, and facility guidelines
- Participate in care planning meetings and discharge planning
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and SNF regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist license issued by the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy
- Certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Ability to obtain and maintain Iowa licensure in good standing
- Strong communication and documentation skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to assist patients with mobility and transfers
- Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and walking
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed
