About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in Connecticut school districts. In this role, you’ll work directly with students to implement therapy plans and help them develop critical communication skills that support their academic and social success.
You’ll be part of a collaborative special education team with access to supervision, structured support, and manageable caseloads.
Key Responsibilities
Implement speech and language treatment plans developed by a licensed SLP
Provide direct therapy services to students under SLP supervision
Support students with articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic communication needs
Assist with data collection and documentation of student progress
Prepare therapy materials and assistive communication devices (including AAC)
Collaborate with teachers and staff to reinforce communication strategies in the classroom
Maintain service logs and documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
Participate in team meetings and professional development as appropriate
Qualifications
Required
Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology / Communication Sciences and Disorders
Eligibility to work as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in Connecticut
Valid Driver’s License
Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
Preferred
Experience working in a public school setting
Familiarity with IEP processes
Experience supporting students with diverse communication needs
Cultural competency working with diverse student populations
