Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and people-centric Director of Human Resources to lead all HR, talent and operational functions. Operating as a critical business partner to executive leadership, the HR Director will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, align human capital strategies with overarching corporate objectives, and nurture an inclusive, high-performing organizational culture.
The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in federal, New York or Connecticut state, and NYC or CT labor laws, excels in organizational development, and brings a data-driven approach to talent management, total rewards, and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR & LeadershipPartner with the executive team to develop and execute human capital strategies that support long-term growth and organizational goals.
- Function as a trusted advisor to senior management on organizational design, workforce planning, change management, and leadership development.
- Establish key HR metrics and dashboards to track turnover, engagement, time-to-hire, and labor costs to guide executive decision-making.
- Talent Acquisition & Workforce PlanningOversee full-lifecycle recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent in competitive markets, particularly within the CT/NYC metro area.
- Develop robust onboarding and offboarding frameworks to maximize candidate experience, retention, and time-to-productivity.
- Drive employer branding initiatives, internship programs, and strategic university/industry partnerships.
- CT NYC/NYS Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure 100% compliance with all federal, New York State (NYS DOL), and New York City (NYC CCHR) employment laws.
- Maintain full alignment with key local mandates
- Manage complex employee relations inquiries, conduct thorough internal investigations, and oversee risk mitigation strategies in partnership with legal counsel.
- Compensation, Benefits & Total RewardsManage base compensation structures, merit increase frameworks, and variable bonus programs using benchmarking tools.
- Direct annual open enrollment, managing vendor relationships for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and supplemental benefit plans.
- Ensure market competitiveness across all compensation packages while maintaining internal equity.
- Performance Management & Organizational CultureDesign and execute progressive performance evaluation processes, objective setting (OKRs/KPIs), and promotion frameworks.
- Foster an inclusive, high trust work culture that prioritizes employee wellbeing, recognition, and professional growth.
- Implement structured training programs focused on leadership development, compliance, and manager coaching.
- PayrollManage full lifecycle payroll for US offices (Stamford, NY, LA)
- Must have experience in ADP
- Liaise with HR and finance counterparts in Dublin office
- Qualifications & Core CompetenciesEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field preferred
- Experience: 8 – 10 years of progressive HR experience, HR generalist experience – recruiting, payroll, EEO functions
- Systems: Proficiency with enterprise HRIS platforms (ADP, Workday)
- Skills: High emotional intelligence, executive presence, sharp negotiation skills, strong conflict resolution abilities, and strategic decision-making
