Job Summary
The Pipe Foreman is responsible for overseeing and directing pipe installation crews on job sites, ensuring the safe and efficient installation of underground utility systems, including water, sewer, and storm drainage. This role involves supervising laborers and operators, coordinating with site management, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, extensive pipe installation experience, and a commitment to maintaining productivity while ensuring safety.
Duties
- Lead and supervise pipe construction crews, providing clear direction and ensuring adherence to project plans and safety standards.
- Supervise safety protocols on-site, conduct safety meetings, and enforce OSHA standards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets closely, adjusting plans as necessary to meet deadlines without compromising quality or safety.
- Assign tasks and oversee laborers, equipment operators, and pipe layers to ensure efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and grade stakes to ensure correct pipe placement and slope.
- Inspect trenches, bedding, and backfilling operations to meet project specifications.
- Ensure pipes are properly aligned, connected, and sealed using industry-standard methods.
- Operate or direct the use of trench boxes, lasers, and other pipe-laying tools.
- Train and mentor crew members on installation techniques, safety procedures, and job site best practices.
- Communicate project expectations, goals, and safety guidelines clearly to all crew members.
- Ensure all work aligns with project schematics, construction estimates, and contractual obligations while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management with a focus on pipeline projects or heavy civil infrastructure.
- Supervising experience leading crews in a construction environment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating techniques.
- Hands-on experience with project scheduling, budgeting, quality control measures, and managing contracts.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices specific to heavy civil or pipeline construction sites.
- Construction site experience demonstrating proficiency in managing complex projects from inception through completion.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
