Tank Foreman
Position Summary
The Tank Foreman oversees field crews responsible for the construction and repair of industrial storage tanks and related structures. This role manages daily jobsite operations, ensures safety compliance, coordinates manpower and equipment, and ensures projects are completed on schedule and within quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise tank construction, repair, and maintenance crews on industrial job sites
- Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, materials, and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project drawings
- Ensure all work complies with company standards, OSHA regulations, and site safety requirements
- Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce safe work practices
- Monitor project progress and productivity to meet schedules and budgets
- Inspect work quality and ensure compliance with customer specifications
- Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients
- Maintain daily reports, timesheets, job logs, and material tracking
- Assist with planning shutdowns, turnarounds, and maintenance schedules
- Troubleshoot field issues and provide leadership to crews in high-pressure environments
- Train and mentor crew members on proper procedures and safety practices
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5 years of industrial tank construction, maintenance, or repair experience
- Previous supervisory or foreman experience preferred
- NCCCO crane license with TLL (swing cab)
- Ability to pass a 3 position FLUX cored welding test
- Experience with sub arc welding and the ability pass a welding test with this equipment (AGW and Tractor)
- Strong knowledge of above-ground storage tanks, welding, rigging, and structural steel
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and industrial jobsite practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel as required
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- NCCER certification
- TWIC card
- Confined Space and Fall Protection training
- First Aid/CPR certification
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Climb ladders, work at heights, and enter confined spaces
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
Work Environment
- Industrial construction sites, refineries, terminals, manufacturing facilities, and tank farms
- Exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment, and changing environmental conditions
Pay: $44.00 - $48.00 per hour
