Pantry Cook

Capt Hirams is searching for a committed, proactive Pantry Cook who would enjoy work in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The Pantry Cook will accurately and efficiently prepare all cold plated items and garnishes. The candidate will also complete final plate preparation duties including plating and garnishing cold menu items. This position requires nights, weekends, holidays, and shift work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete opening and closing checklists
• Refer to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties
• Prepare a variety of cold plated items such as sandwiches, salads, raw bar items, and desserts
• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
• Use our Standard Recipe Card for preparing all products
• Understand and comply consistently with our standards including: portion sizes, plating methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at stations
• Portion products accurately according to portions sizes and recipe specifications
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation
• Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
• Practice proper safety and sanitation procedures
• Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set-up for all dishes
• Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
• Open and close kitchen properly and follow set procedures for station
• Any additional task that is deemed necessary in the future

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and other activities as requested. The employee must be able to lift/or move up to 50 pounds.
