We are representing a globally recognized FORTUNE 500 consumer products organization who is actively seeking an EHS Manager to support environmental, health, and safety programs within a complex, high-growth manufacturing environment. This role will serve as a key member of the site EHS team, with a strong emphasis on environmental compliance, permitting, reporting, wastewater, storm water, waste management, and sustainability initiatives. The EHS Manager will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, contractors, and plant leadership to strengthen compliance, reduce risk, support continuous improvement, and help drive a proactive culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and support environmental compliance activities related to air, wastewater, storm water, chemical management, waste disposal, recycling, permitting, and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain accurate environmental records, reports, permits, and compliance documentation in accordance with federal, state, local, and internal requirements.
- Evaluate production, process, equipment, and operational changes to ensure environmental requirements are maintained or improved.
- Lead environmental permit reviews, interface with regulatory agencies, and support timely completion of required filings and reports.
- Drive environmental improvement projects tied to sustainability, waste reduction, water usage reduction, risk mitigation, and operational performance.
- Support broader health and safety programs, including training, employee engagement, hazard reduction, contractor management, and alignment with site EHS goals.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and plant leadership to promote accountability, communication, and a proactive EHS culture across the facility.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- 4 years of environmental experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or similar operating environment.
- Experience supporting health and safety programs in addition to environmental compliance activities.
- Working knowledge of environmental compliance programs, permitting, reporting, recordkeeping, and regulatory requirements; TRI and Tier II experience preferred.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply Federal, State of Michigan, and local environmental regulations, with strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
