We are representing a very prominent manufacturing organization in the Greater Birmingham, AL area that is actively seeking an Assistant Quality Manager to support the Quality Manager in overseeing all quality assurance and quality control activities within a manufacturing environment. This role helps ensure products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and internal quality standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily quality operations, including inspection, testing, auditing, and corrective action activities
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management systems and procedures
- Monitor key quality metrics and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Coordinate internal audits and support external customer and certification audits
- Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve product performance
- Review and analyze quality data, nonconformance reports, customer complaints, and warranty claims
- Assist in managing supplier quality concerns and support supplier development initiatives
- Train and mentor quality personnel while promoting a culture of quality throughout the organization
- Support new product launches and process changes by ensuring quality requirements are properly implemented
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred
- 3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of root cause analysis tools, statistical process control, and problem-solving techniques
Salary : $115,000 - $125,000
