Residential Maintenance Technician

Valley Handy, the maintenance division for Capstone Realty Professionals, is seeking a highly motivated Residential Maintenance Technician, to be based out of our central Phoenix office, and to work in the field. Our team currently services the entire Phoenix metro area, and performs handyman services for both occupied and vacant residential properties. We are looking for a long term jack-of-all-trades handyman to join the team.

As a Residential Maintenance Technician, you will have experience in general maintenance, painting, basic plumbing, electrical and HVAC, and mechanical systems of a residential home. You'll be working independently, completing light to mid-sized projects on residential homes throughout the Valley.

Position Responsibilities Will Include

• Maintenance - Perform routine and scheduled maintenance on multiple properties to ensure safety, comfort, and aesthetics. This includes maintaining and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, as well as performing repairs and remodels, including painting and sheetrock.
• Repairs - Respond to work ordered and scheduled requests for repairs and maintenance promptly and competently. This includes installing fixtures and appliances, replacing damaged systems, and preparing vacant units for new residents.
• Inspections - Perform daily inspections of properties, and quality checks on systems. Follow-up checklist-guided processes and reporting. This includes checking for lighting, security, and safety issues.
• Estimates - Prepare estimates for requested and needed repair, including identifying parts needed to complete the job
• On Time & On Budget - Complete jobs within the estimated and approved budgets, and within the estimated and scheduled timelines.
• Other tasks - Order parts and supplies, and coordinate deliveries. May also assist with office furniture moving and setup, and the training of junior staff.
• Communication - Communicate in a clear, concise, complete, and courteous manner with the team and our clients
• Other tasks as assigned by management
  
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalency is highly preferred
• Experience painting residential property interiors
• Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
• A current, valid, and clean Driver license is required
• Reliable transportation
• Two (2) years of experience in residential construction/maintenance/repair. An Educational or Trade certificate in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude, and well-rounded hands on mechanical skills
• Ability to work well with people, with strong customer service skills
• Ability to use a smartphone for scheduling and coordination
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to adapt quickly
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs independently
