A skilled HVAC Technician with current EPA certification is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems within a commercial or institutional environment. This position requires strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and adherence to all applicable environmental and regulatory standards while optimizing overall system performance.
Responsibilities:
· Inspect, diagnose, and repair all HVAC and refrigeration equipment (chillers, boilers, RTUs, heat pumps, air handlers, VAV systems, etc.)
· Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical and control systems.
· Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and make necessary adjustments for efficiency and comfort.
· Maintain accurate service and maintenance records for all equipment.
· Respond promptly to facility maintenance requests and HVAC system alarms.
· Ensure compliance with EPA guidelines for refrigerant handling, recovery, and disposal.
· Collaborate with facility maintenance staff and contractors to coordinate system repairs and upgrades.
· Assist in capital improvement projects involving HVAC and energy management systems.
· Adhere to OSHA and company safety standards at all times.
· Perform general maintenance tasks and respond to non-HVAC maintenance requests as needed to support overall facility operations.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Availability for on-call emergencies and after-hours support as needed.
· Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
· Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly and understand that for each resident the facility is considered the Resident’s home.
· Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
