Principal Duties And Accountabilities (Essential Functions)
- Cleans plant spillage in all areas of the plant.
- Operates equipment and machinery such as bobcat, front-end loader, and dump truck to clean up specified areas.
- Performs minor plant maintenance including oil changes and greasing of plant equipment.
- Assists plant operator with general maintenance tasks.
- Operates various hand and power tools such as air hammer, air chipping gun, shovel, hoes, screwdrivers, and brooms.
- Stacks and sorts supplies used in plant, shop, office, or vehicular activities.
- Responsible for immediately reporting all unsafe conditions to supervisor.
- Required to maintain equipment safety checklists and plant log.
- Responsible for completing area audits.
- Maintains work area and equipment in a safe and clean condition at all times.
- Responsible to abide by and support all company and plant safety policies, rules, and procedures as well as M.S.H.A regulations.

- Successful completion of high school or GED certificate is preferred.
- Six months experience in the operation of heavy vehicles and equipment such as bobcat, front-end loader, forklift, and dump truck preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of stone plant or related construction site operations is preferred but not required.
- Must be capable of reading, understanding, and obeying all safety rules and regulations, equipment operating instructions and danger notices.
- Must have mechanical aptitude.
- Must possess good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Must possess attention to detail, and commitment to task.
- Ability to listen and understand information presented through spoken words.
- Ability to communicate information in speaking.
- Ability to read and understand information presented in writing.
- Ability to communicate effectively using appropriate interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise own work and be self-motivated.
- Ability to abide by company safety policies and procedures and to work safely within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to occasionally travel (including overnight) up to one (1) week at a time.
