SME provides deep domain expertise across US crop insurance products and operations acting as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams The role ensures regulatory compliance business accuracy and operational feasibility across AMS and transformation initiatives
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the domain authority for Crop Insurance including MPCI Crop Hail Livestock and Specialty Crop products
Interpret and apply USDA RMA regulations actuarial rules policy provisions and loss adjustment procedures
Provide guidance on end to end crop insurance lifecycle
Quoting Underwriting
Acreage Reporting
Policy Administration
Claims Loss Adjustment
Billing Payments
Support Guidewire implementations and AMS engagements by validating business rules workflows and edge cases
Review and signoff on:
Functional requirements
Configuration approaches
Release content and defect fixes
Act as the goto advisor during transition KT UAT and regulatory audits
Support incident triage and complex production issues L3 domain support
Contribute to RFPs solution design estimations and client workshops
Ensure seasonal readiness during planting acreage reporting and harvest peak periods
Required Skills Experience:
10-15 years of experience in Crop Insurance domain
Strong hands-on knowledge of:
MPCI plans unit structures coverage options
Prevented planting replant indemnity calculations
Claims settlement loss adjustment processes
Experience with USDARMA compliance and reporting
Prior exposure to core insurance platforms Guidewire preferred custom systems acceptable
Ability to translate regulatory and actuarial complexity into clear business guidance
Strong stakeholder management and decisionmaking skills
Nice to Have:
Experience supporting large carriers managing general agents MGAs
Prior involvement in cloud modernization or digital portals Agent Policyholder
Exposure to data analytics loss ratios yield trends GIS integrations
The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $53.44/hour - $83.50/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.
