We are seeking a senior data architect to guide the integration of an existing high-volume Adobe Analytics data into an enterprise Azure Databricks environment. The role will partner with and guide engineers, providing the Adobe expertise and architectural direction needed to process approximately 1–2 million records per day.
The candidate must possess sufficient functional knowledge of the business context of the tables and files within Adobe Analytics and be able to advise MGM business users on which data they should ingest and curate to achieve a desired analytics, reporting, or business outcome – this is the juncture where this requirement strays from purely technical knowledge.
This resource will not have a populated data governance tool such as Unity to fall back on to research these types of questions, they are expected to have that functional knowledge of Adobe Analytics along with the technical skills.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Adobe Analytics data, Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, SQL Server, APIs, and streaming applications. This is primarily an architecture and technical leadership role, with the consultant defining the approach, documentation, and guardrails while coaching the client’s engineers through implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
Define ingestion patterns using Adobe data feeds, APIs, batch, and streaming methods
Guide the Databricks medallion architecture
Establish source-to-target mappings, customer identity rules, and data-quality controls
Provide guidance on schema design, incremental loads, historical processing, and monitoring
Translate marketing and customer analytics needs into technical requirements for engineering teams
Important to consider:
Recommended methods for extracting Adobe Analytics data into the Azure Databricks platform
How to deal with mapping files which are sent each time and the potential for schema changes / metadata drift
How to deal with effectively with massively high data volumes
How to ensure any ingestion method can be accurately and efficiently restarted if required without full reprocessing
Be able to clearly articulate challenges and remediation steps taken in this type of work
