AI Application Engineer (Python, RAG, GenAI) – Hybrid

About the Role

We are seeking a hands‑on AI Application Engineer to design, build, and deploy production‑ready Generative AI applications. This role is focused on real development and delivery, not experimentation in isolation.

You will work primarily with Python, LLM platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Copilot), and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures to build intelligent assistants, chatbots, and advisor‑support tools used by real users.

This role emphasizes strong software engineering fundamentals, ownership of production systems, and a willingness to learn and evolve as Generative AI technologies mature.

What You’ll Do

• Build and integrate GenAI applications using large language models and modern GenAI frameworks
• Design and implement RAG pipelines, including embeddings, vector search, and knowledge integrations
• Develop AI‑assisted applications and tooling that enhance workflows and decision‑making
• Take solutions beyond proof‑of‑concept into production‑ready applications
• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, and stakeholders to deliver practical AI solutions

Key Responsibilities

🔹 RAG & Knowledge Systems

• Design and build RAG architectures that integrate structured and unstructured data
• Optimize retrieval relevance, performance, and latency
• Evaluate and improve RAG quality using practical, production‑focused metrics

🔹 Data Integration & Ingestion

• Integrate data from REST APIs, databases, enterprise systems, and document repositories
• Ensure data pipelines are reliable, scalable, and production‑ready

🔹 GenAI Application Development

• Build Python‑based services using LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Copilot)
• Develop conversational interfaces, advisor‑support systems, and AI assistants
• Implement prompts, workflows, and orchestration needed to support real user scenarios

🔹 AI Engineering & Automation

• Embed GenAI capabilities into existing applications and workflows
• Develop intelligent tooling that improves engineering productivity and automation

🔹 Prototyping & Delivery

• Design and deliver production‑ready prototypes and MVPs
• Iterate quickly based on user feedback and business needs

🔹 DevOps, Security & Operations

• Package and deploy applications using containers and CI/CD pipelines
• Apply monitoring, testing, and observability best practices
• Follow secure coding standards and Responsible AI principles

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong Python development experience building production applications
• Hands‑on experience building, deploying, and supporting RAG‑based GenAI applications
• Experience integrating LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Copilot
• Familiarity with containers, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to explain how your GenAI solutions work in production, not just conceptually

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Experience with LangChain or Semantic Kernel
• Exposure to agent‑based or multi‑step GenAI workflows
• Background in data systems, ML pipelines, or cloud platforms
