Capax is assisting one of our clients in finding a freelance DCS Process Automation Engineer for a 12-24 month contract within the pharmaceutical industry. The role is based in Kalundborg and focuses on developing, programming, and commissioning automation solutions for large-scale pharma production.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, program, commission, qualify, test (FAT, SAT, UAT), and hand over applications for Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
Work with ABB 800xA, 800xA Batch Management, and SattLine in compliance with S88 standards.
Collaborate with process experts and colleagues across MES, Historian systems, instruments, and production equipment.
Support the development and optimization of automation methods and strategies.
Participate in qualification, validation, and documentation activities in GMP environments.
Requirements (must-have)
Minimum 4 years of documented experience in 800xA DCS programming.
Minimum 4 years of documented experience in 800xA Batch Management.
Strong knowledge of the S88 standard.
Advantageous competencies
Pharma process knowledge within fermentation, purification, upstream, and downstream.
Background from pharma, chemical, or food & beverage industries with batch-related production.
Knowledge of GMP and GDP.
Experience in functional specifications, FAT, SAT, UAT testing, commissioning, and validation activities.
Solid experience with documentation: protocols, test plans, test references.
Project scope
Contract duration: 1–2 years with possibility of extension.
Location: On-site in Kalundborg.
Start: As soon as possible.
