Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs.
- Operate cash registers and process transactions accurately using POS systems.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
- Maintain an organized checkout area and restock merchandise as needed.
- Provide information about products and services, including upselling where appropriate.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist in supervising junior staff members when necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform basic math calculations for transactions and change.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Proficient in cash handling and operating cash registers or POS systems.
- Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing.
- Experience in retail sales is preferred but not required.
- Ability to effectively stock merchandise and maintain store organization.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
- Knowledge of upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities.
- Supervisory skills are a plus for overseeing junior staff.
