Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented independent contractor to support our sewing department. This is a hands-on production floor role focused on folding, packing, order picking, and preparing finished textile products for shipment. This is a 1099 contractor engagement — no benefits are provided. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required — you will communicate across our production team in both languages daily.
Position Details
Location: Auburn, GA — On-site only
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor (No benefits, no taxes withheld)
Department: Sewing / Production
Reports To: Sewing Manager
Benefits: Not applicable — 1099 independent contractor engagement
What You Will Do
- Fold, sort, and pack finished textile products to order specifications
- Pick orders from inventory and stage for shipment
- Prepare and pack orders for shipping — boxing, labeling, and verifying against packing documents
- Perform quality control checks to ensure finished products meet size, appearance, and order standards
- Assist with receiving inbound materials and organizing inventory
- Handle materials appropriately and safely throughout the production process
- Install grommets and assist with finishing work as directed
- Assist the Sewing Manager with special projects and production tasks
- Enter material usage and hours into Fishbowl inventory software
- Pull orders from Fishbowl for production fulfillment
- Communicate instructions and updates across the team in both English and Spanish
- Maintain a clean, organized work area at all times
- Follow all safety requirements and facility procedures
What You Bring
- Bilingual — fluent in English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing) REQUIRED
- Prior experience in a production, warehouse, or manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong attention to detail — accuracy in order picking, packing, and quality checks
- Comfortable reading and working from order documents, packing lists, and pick tickets
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately
- Organized and efficient — able to manage multiple orders without mixing them
- Good communication skills in both English and Spanish
- Basic computer skills for inventory software entry
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance
- Team-first attitude with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
