Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster – California
Remote | Insurance Carrier
A stable and growing insurance carrier is seeking a California Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join their team. This role is ideal for an adjuster who enjoys handling a full indemnity caseload and working within a structured, carrier-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of California Workers’ Compensation indemnity claims from inception through resolution
- Handle claims involving litigation, complex compensability issues, and ongoing exposure management
- Conduct investigations, liability determinations, and benefit administration in accordance with CA regulations
- Manage reserves, settlement strategies, and claim closures, including stips and C&R
- Coordinate with defense counsel on litigated files and attend/prepare for hearings as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EAMS and internal claim systems
- Communicate effectively with injured workers, employers, attorneys, and internal stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience handling California Workers’ Compensation claims (indemnity required)
- Strong understanding of CA jurisdiction, including benefits, timelines, and compliance requirements
- Experience managing litigated caseloads
- Familiarity with stips, C&R, and exposure evaluation
- SIP or other industry designations are a plus
- Ability to manage a desk independently in a fast-paced environment
