Our law firm is looking for an individual with a strong academic record and 2 to 4 years of practical work experience in a law firm with a civil law practice in the area of general civil litigation. If interested, please find a further description below.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work independently and with other attorneys in the firm on active case files.
- Communicating and meeting with clients, other counsel, court staff, and governmental administrative agencies via telephone, mail, and email.
- Using case management software to track and update case matters and tasks, and maintain a calendar for responses, hearings, etc.
- Drafting notices, petitions, pleadings, discovery requests, monitoring discovery compliance, motions, correspondence, and other documents related to the active case file.
- Legal research and drafting.
- Facilitating filings through state and federal filing portals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Licensed attorney in the State of Florida.
- 2 to 4 years of practical legal experience in the area of civil litigation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Case Management software.
- Working knowledge and experience with federal and state court e-filing portals.
