General Summary Performs routine and detailed clerical and customer service duties and responsibilities in support of the County Treasurers' office. Provides information, collects, accounts for, and distributes revenues, process documents, maintains records, responds to inquiries and complaints. Administers the rules and regulations of the Department of Transportation, Department of Revenue, as well as the state statutes of the State of Wyoming.
Reconciles bank statements with registers. Manages vehicle registrations, runs daily balances and batching, runs financial reports. Runs reports to verify property tax information.
Handles check processing and deposits. Has more knowledge about office processes, receives less supervision, and has more experience than level II. Essential Duties and Responsibilites The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job.
Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Answers the telephone and refers calls to appropriate department personnel. Greets and assists public in a courteous manner.
Provides information on departmental, county, and state policies and procedures. Researches and verifies property taxes, motor vehicle taxes, sales taxes, and mobile machinery taxes. Prepares certified documents such as motor vehicle registrations, sales tax and property tax notices for the public, County Attorney's Office, District Court, and other entities.
Issues certificates of redemption as properties are redeemed. Issues check to the certificate of purchase holder. Posts and balances general ledger, outstanding warrants, and school interest.
Submits check for school interest. Reconciles general ledger to revenue system. Research and compile claims for bankruptcies and reports for delinquent personal and production taxes.
Contacts County Attorney's office for assistance as needed. Performs a variety of detailed and confidential clerical duties. Types and proofreads documents.
Maintains accurate files and records. Receives, processes, and sorts incoming mail. Enters and retrieves various information from the computer system.
Collects, records, and processes money, receipts, and documents. Balances cash drawer with receipts. Transmits documents to the state department as assigned.
Prints periodic financial, statistical or operations reports as assigned. Administers applicable State and Federal statutes concerning Departments of Transportation, Revenue, and Ad Valorem. Assists in maintaining office inventory of supplies and equipment, including fixed assets, specialized forms, license plates and tabs.
Compiles and balances cash drawers, accounts, and receipts. Prepares and delivers daily bank deposits. Participates in apportioning and distributing of collected money and participates in collection of all NSF checks.
Prepares and balances daily and monthly reports, including cash book, tax receivables, batching motor vehicle registrations, and sales tax. Prepares bank reconciliations, board reports, payment, and recording of bonds and coupons and purchase orders. Tracks stale checks and issues and remits checks as needed.
Contacts financial institutions for investing or reinvesting into Time Deposit Open Account (TDOA) as directed. Assures sufficient collateral for deposits. Assists in preparing mortgage and motor vehicle company reports and collection of money.
Transmits funds to the state department as assigned. Performs related duties as required.
