Job Summary
The Equestrian Manager leads the daily operations of Camp Highroad’s riding facilities, overseeing all aspects of horse and stable care while ensuring a safe, engaging environment for riders of all ages and skill levels. This dynamic role includes coordinating training sessions, developing and managing equestrian programs for guests, and supporting additional program areas as time permits. With a blend of expertise, leadership, and passion for equine care, the Equestrian Manager fosters growth, confidence, and a love for horsemanship within our vibrant camp community.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Coordinate and train Wranglers (overnight summer horse camp)
- Oversee work flow, stables, and horse management
- Mange the safety and training for Wranglers
- Handle discipline of volunteers in accordance with policies
- Develop and Establish schedule for Wranglers
Duties
- Develop and manage a riding program for summer camp and retreat guests
- Responsible for cultivating relationships with guests for continual interest in the riding program
- Manage a medical feeding, farrier, and field rotation regiment for horses
- Develop and manage a budget for the riding program Determine the size of the herd needed based on the services provided
- Work with Marketing to Market the riding program Provide data of services provided through riding program
- Perform other duties as assigned including support of other departments as needed
Additional Duties if Residing on Premises:
- Available for Crisis when on premises
- Additional Shared Rotating Weekend On-Duty Expectations
- Maintain Residence and report concerns to maintenance department
- Sign Housing Agreement
Experience
- At least 2 year experience with horses
- Preferred Education in Equine Care
- Strong Understanding of Feed and Care for a herd of horses Strong verbal and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent Organization skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at time stressful environment
- Proficient with computer programs as needed
- Excellent Networking Skills Excellent Decision Making Skills
Work Environment
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- Exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental factors associated with Equestrian care
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
